Bishkek, March 12, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, Osh oblast governor Amankan Kenjebaev, met with Consul General of Lithuania, Šarune Kubiliūtėin as part of the official opening of the Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Osh.
According to Osh oblast administration, during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Lithuania, and discussed the development of interregional cooperation.
Amankan Kenjebaev noted that the opening of the Honorary Consulate in Osh will be an important step in strengthening the friendly and partnership relations between the two countries. He also congratulated Orumbaev on his appointment to the important post of Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Osh.
Lithuanian side was presented with information on investment opportunities in the Osh region. Particular emphasis was placed on the potential of the agricultural sector, the production and processing of organic agricultural products.
The parties also expressed interest in intensifying cooperation in the following areas:
trade and economic ties and investment attraction;
agricultural processing;
tourism development;
strengthening cultural, humanitarian, and educational contacts. It is noted that following the meeting, the participants confirmed their readiness to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation between the regions of the two countries.
