Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2025. /Kabar/. A major overhaul of Hydroelectric Unit No. 1 is underway at the Kambarata Hydroelectric Power Plant-2, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy reported.
According to the ministry, the main goal of these measures is to extend the service life of the hydroelectric units, improve their operational reliability, and prepare the plant for efficient and safe operation during the autumn/winter period.
The following work is currently ongoing at the plant:
- major overhaul of Hydroelectric Unit No. 1;
- installation of rotor poles and inspection of key components;
- washing and cleaning of oil coolers;
- turbine shaft repair and equipment inspection;
- routine maintenance of electrical equipment in the 110 kV outdoor switchgear;
- equipment maintenance and painting of air collectors;
It is noted that large-scale landscaping of the station site and construction of road are simultaneously underway.
Excavation work has already been completed, the concrete foundation of the retaining wall is being constructed, reinforcement has been completed, and the concrete pouring of the lower and upper sections of the structure has been completed. These measures will significantly improve the station's infrastructure, ensure safe and convenient access to production areas, and strengthen the adjacent areas.
