Bishkek, June 10, 2026 /Kabar/. On June 9, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Asein Isaev met with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia and Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Kakha Imnadze. Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
Kakha Imnadze congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for 2027–2028, noting the importance of this event for both the country and the Central Asian region.
During the meeting, they exchanged views, and discussed potential areas of cooperation and joint initiatives within the framework of Kyrgyzstan's upcoming membership in the UNSC.
Furthermore, the parties discussed current issues on the regional agenda, including preparations for the Secretary-General's upcoming participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, as well as prospects for using the Fergana Peace Forum as a platform for developing regional cooperation and advancing preventive diplomacy.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue comprehensive cooperation on issues falling under the UNRCCA mandate.
