Minister Syrgabaev: Kyrgyzstan seeks to develop country's transit potential

Bishkek, Feb. 21, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Transport and Communications Absattar Syrgabaev took part in the forum "New Routes, New Markets Global Gateways and Potential Markets along the "Middle Corridor", which was held in Hamburg (Germany).

This event is dedicated to the development and prospects of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the "Middle Corridor", connecting China through Kyrgyzstan and other countries of Central Asia, the Caucasus, Turkiye and Europe.

Speaking at the international forum, Minister Absattar Syrgabaev said that Kyrgyzstan seeks to identify new opportunities for developing the country's transit potential and entering international markets. In this regard, he noted the significant role of the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which will be an important strategic bridge connecting the countries of the East and the West.

"The project will strengthen trade and economic ties, and the delivery time of goods from China and East Asian countries to the Middle East and Europe will be reduced by about 7-8 days," the minister said.

In addition, Syrgabaev noted the ongoing work to modernize the transport and logistics infrastructure and introduce modern digital technologies that simplify the processes of transporting domestic and international goods, contribute to the acceleration of transport and the development of the country's transit potential.

Also, within the framework of the international forum, the ministry presented investment projects in the road transport industry.
