Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2026. /Kabar/. As part of Uch-Kurgan HPP modernization project, the dismantling of the No. 2 hydrounit and the delivery of new equipment continue as planned. According to Ministry of Energy, currently, 44 specialists are working at the facility. The main work is underway in the following areas:
- 19 specialists are involved in the dismantling of the No. 2 hydrounit, and the dismantled nodes are being audited;
- 47.3 percent of the equipment required for the new unit has been delivered. In particular, the generator stator, rotor, control and cooling systems have been fully delivered. The impeller and other components have also been partially delivered;
- the development of design documentation and preparation of technical materials are actively underway.
The main goal of the modernization is to extend the service life of the hydroelectric power plant, increase the reliability and efficiency of electricity generation. The project is being implemented by the general contractor CNEEC and the subcontractor WanFang.
