Bishkek, Dec. 1, 2025. /Kabar/. Director for Asia at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Imran Sahidov stated at a briefing in Bishkek that the OIC delegation conducted a comprehensive observation of various stages of the electoral process in Kyrgyzstan in line with national regulations and recognized international standards.

According to him, the mission operated in full compliance with the Declaration of Principles for International Election Observation and the observers’ code of conduct. On election day, November 30, the OIC delegation observed the voting process in Bishkek and its suburbs, visiting 18 polling stations across five electoral districts. Observers were present at the opening of polling stations at 8 a.m., monitored the voting throughout the day, and attended the opening of ballot boxes and the vote count alongside other international missions.

Sahidov noted that the electoral process was organized properly and ensured security, with law enforcement officers positioned at a reasonable distance from the entrances, allowing unimpeded access for voters. All polling stations opened on time, and commission members fully cooperated with international observers.

He emphasized that all necessary materials were available at the polling stations, including voter lists, ballots, ballot boxes, secret voting booths, and other equipment, which ensured an orderly process. Turnout at the monitored polling stations ranged from low to moderate, ballot secrecy was maintained, and no attempts by political actors to influence voters were recorded.

He added that the active presence of international observers contributed to an exchange of views and allowed a comprehensive assessment of the situation.

Sahidov stated that the OIC will continue supporting efforts to strengthen stable, inclusive, and democratic governance and will monitor the final election results and post-election developments in the country.
