Bishkek, Feb. 25, 2026. /Kabar/. Chakan HPP has signed agreement with China National Heavy Machinery Corporation to reconstruct the Lebedinovka HPP, Ministry of Energy reports.
According to the information, the contractor company has currently begun preparing design and estimate documents. As part of the modernization, it is planned to achieve the following indicators:
The capacity of the HPP will increase from 7.6 MW to 10 MW;
Annual electricity production will increase from 37.2 million kWh to 53.5 million kWh;
The station's equipment will be completely renovated and its operating life will be extended.
For information: Lebedinovka HPP is one of the oldest stations in Chui region. Its construction began in 1942 during the war and was completed in a record short time (1 year and 2 weeks) with the participation of more than 7 thousand women and children. Since 1943, the station has been supplying the city of Frunze and factories working for the front with electricity.
