Bishkek, Nov. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. On November 3, Tynchtyk Shainazarov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) met with Claude Haagen, Special Coordinator and Head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's short-term mission.
They discussed preparations for the early parliamentary elections in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as interaction with international observers.
During the meeting, Tynchtyk Shainazarov noted that invitations to participate in election observation had been sent to many countries. OSCE mission plans to deploy 330 observers, demonstrating the OSCE's strong commitment to the transparency and openness of the electoral process in Kyrgyzstan.
Claude Haagen expressed interest in the new electoral system that will be used in the upcoming elections, as well as the results of testing the electoral equipment and the practical aspects of remote voting. He also inquired about any difficulties arising from the updated rules and the short campaign period.
CEC Chairman detailed the innovations in the electoral process, emphasizing that remote voting equipment had been tested four times and confirmed to be reliable and effective. He noted that remote voting expands the exercise of citizens' electoral rights, especially for Kyrgyzstanis living abroad.
Special attention was paid to the issue of gender equality. Tynchtyk Shainazarov emphasized that, in accordance with the latest changes to electoral legislation, the new parliament will be represented by at least 30 women or 30 men from all constituencies in the country.
Following the meeting, Claude Haagen was briefed on the remote voting process and the operating principles of the electoral equipment.
