Bishkek, April 16, 2026 /Kabar/. First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev met with the chief transplantologist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Gauthier.
According to Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting, at the initiative of President Sadyr Zhaparov, the development of transplantation has been identified as a priority area of state healthcare policy. In recent years, the necessary regulatory framework has been established and the conditions for the phased implementation of modern medical technologies have been ensured.
Particular attention was paid to the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of transplantation. It was noted that the collaboration between Mamakeev National Surgical Center and Shumakov National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs of the Russian Ministry of Health, formalized by agreement dated July 24, 2024, is already demonstrating practical results.
As part of this collaboration, 20 medical specialists from Kyrgyzstan completed internships in specialized transplantation areas. The parties are currently discussing increasing the number of specialists for this program.
Kyrgyz Republic is consistently implementing a policy for the development of transplantology: since 2023, an organ transplant program funded by the republican budget has been in effect.
The significance of the current visit by Sergey Gauthier, one of the world's leading experts in transplantology and with the largest practical experience in organ transplantation in the Russian Federation, was particularly emphasized.
During the visit, number of specialists of Mamakeev National Surgical Center under the supervision of Sergei Gauthier performed a successful related liver transplant.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further deepen their cooperation in transplantology, including expanding practical interaction and specialist training. It was noted that the agreements reached will provide additional impetus for the development of high-tech medical care in Kyrgyz Republic and strengthen bilateral professional partnerships.
