Bishkek, Sept. 30, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov addressed the nation live today and announced the appointment of parliamentary elections in the country.
The head of state said that in connection with the Jogorku Kenesh's decision on September 25 to dissolve itself, he signed a decree scheduling parliamentary elections for November 30, 2025.
The president thanked the deputies for their demonstrated commitment to public service and for setting aside personal interests for the sake of the country's long-term stability.
"You thought not about your remaining one year in parliament, but about the future of the state. "This is the most correct decision," Zhaparov noted.
The head of state emphasized that holding elections every five years could create difficulties for the Central Election Commission and negatively impact political stability. He recalled that next year, Kyrgyzstan will be preparing for major events—the SCO summit and the World Nomad Games.
Sadyr Zhaparov refuted opponents' suggestions that the dissolution of parliament is connected to the presidential election:
"I did not ask a single deputy to initiate a dissolution. Five years ago, I was elected with the support of 80 percent of the population. Today, I am confident that the people's trust has grown even higher," he stated.
The president emphasized that long-term political stability has been established in the country, crises have been resolved, economic growth has been ensured, and a system of governance has been established.
"Today, we can say that long-term stability has been established. Now, there will always be an eighteen-month interval between two elections," the head of state concluded.
