Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, October 20, President Sadyr Zhaparov received Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan on an official visit.
During the meeting, they discussed prospects for the further development of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation in the trade-economic, investment, energy, and transport sectors. Noting the special nature of the allied relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, the head of state emphasized the importance of consistently implementing the agreements reached, including the Treaty on Allied Relations, which was signed during the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to Kyrgyzstan this July.
In turn, Sahiba Gafarova conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Ilham Aliyev to Sadyr Zhaparov and the people of Kyrgyzstan.
The speaker of the Milli Majlis noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations, including inter-parliamentary cooperation and underscored the importance of further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
