President Zhaparov visits Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent

Bishkek, Nov. 16, 2025. /Kabar/. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov visited the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent today, November 15, as part of a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A tour of the complex's activities and museum exhibits took place ahead of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

The leaders of the region were presented with a rich collection of manuscripts, artifacts, and unique exhibits reflecting the centuries-old contribution of the peoples of Central Asia to the development of Islamic science, culture, and education.

During the tour, the important role of the Center for Islamic Civilization as a scientific, educational, and cultural center, uniting historical sources, spiritual heritage, and contemporary research, was emphasized. Along with the leaders of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, President Sadyr Zhaparov toured the Hall of the Holy Quran, which houses the Mushaf of Uthman, one of the oldest and most revered manuscripts in the Islamic world.

The heads of state were also introduced to sections dedicated to pre-Islamic civilizations, the First and Second Renaissance eras, and the modern stage of the Renaissance, showcasing the rich spiritual and scientific legacy of the region's great thinkers and rare manuscripts from various historical dynasties.

The event concluded with the award ceremony of the International Heritage of the Future Prize.

The Secretary General of TURKSOY and People's Writer of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sultan Rayev, was awarded the prestigious prize in the Literature category.

The Heritage of the Future Prize aims to support and reward individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of literature, culture, art, science, education, and digital technology.
