Bishkek, June 12, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov made a statement to the media today, June 12, following talks with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in Bishkek.

"Dear Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze,

Dear representatives of the media,

First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, for accepting my invitation and coming to Kyrgyzstan on an official visit.

I would like to emphasize that Georgia is an important partner for Kyrgyzstan, with which relations are built on mutual trust, respect, and long-term cooperation.

We consider today's first official visit by Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze to Kyrgyzstan historic.

This is due to the fact that in the 34 years of Kyrgyz-Georgian diplomatic relations, this visit was the first official visit to Kyrgyzstan at such high level by our Georgian friends.

Today's talks were held in an open, friendly, and constructive atmosphere.

We discussed in detail the most important issues on the bilateral agenda, primarily the development of political dialogue, trade and economic ties, investment and industry cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian relations.

The trusting political ties between our countries provide a solid foundation for developing cooperation in all areas.

In this regard, we noted the need to continue regular political dialogue, intensify contacts between governments and parliaments, and expand consultations between the foreign ministries of our countries.

Trade and economic cooperation was one of the key areas of today's talks.

We noted the positive dynamics in mutual trade and confirmed our readiness to take practical measures to further increase trade turnover, expand direct contacts between entrepreneurs, and implement joint investment projects.

Kyrgyzstan is currently achieving sustainable economic growth, actively implementing reforms, and creating a favorable environment for business and investors.

In this regard, we invited our Georgian partners to more actively participate in projects in transport and logistics, agriculture, construction, the digital economy, tourism, and other promising sectors.

Particular attention was paid to connecting the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway with Georgia's port infrastructure.

We noted that cooperation in this area is a priority for interaction between our countries.

Cultural and humanitarian cooperation are also an important component of our bilateral relations.

We are interested in further expanding exchanges in education, science, culture, youth policy, and sports.

I take this opportunity to invite Georgian athletes to actively participate in the 6th World Nomad Games, which will be held this year in Kyrgyzstan.

I am confident that this major international event will become another important platform for strengthening friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural rapprochement between our peoples.

After discussing important issues on the bilateral agenda, we also touched on multilateral cooperation.

I expressed gratitude to the Georgian side for its support of Kyrgyzstan's international initiatives for the sustainable development of mountainous regions and reaffirmed our commitment to continue close cooperation in this area.

Following the talks, a number of important documents were signed.

I am confident that the agreements reached today will contribute to the further strengthening of Kyrgyz-Georgian relations, the implementation of mutually beneficial projects, and the improvement of the well-being of the peoples of our countries.

Dear Irakli Kobakhidze, thank you once again for the substantive talks and your commitment to developing the Kyrgyz-Georgian partnership.

I wish the friendly Georgian people peace, well-being, and prosperity."
