Bishkek, Oct. 29, 2025 /Kabar/. The reconstruction of hydropower unit No. 3 is 98% complete, the Ministry of Energy reported. According to the ministry, commissioning work on the control cabinets is currently underway on hydropower unit No. 3, along with adjustment and assembly of the unit, and oil is being poured into the system. Preparation of the lifting mechanism is being tested. Full completion is scheduled for November 2025.
On hydropower unit No. 4, the control and regulation system (CRS) is being replaced, and previously identified defects and issues are being addressed.
On hydropower units No. 5 and No. 6, specialists are assembling and conducting flaw detection of the gates, and preparing them for installation in their designated locations.
On hydropower unit No. 2, welding of the stator frame continues, which is a key stage in the assembly of the electromechanical part of the equipment.
As a result of the modernization, the Uch Kurgan HPP will gain new capabilities for stable, safe, and economical electricity generation, making a significant contribution to the development of the country's energy system.
