Bishkek, March 17, 2026 /Kabar/. The reconstruction of the Manas international airport will be completed in May, Altynbek Mambetov, Director of Infrastructure and Regional Airports of the Kyrgyz Airports OJSC, told Birinchi Radio.
According to him, today the first stage of work on the Manas international airport, which was divided into two stages, has been completed on schedule.
"Our work on paving asphalt and installing lighting systems on this runway has been fully completed, and we have received certificates. In addition, we will complete the work on expanding the airport terminal and updating the interior decoration,and put the newly constructed part into operation. After that, we will close the old part and continue the work. We plan to start allowing people to pass through the newly constructed part in May," said Mambetov.
