Bishkek, Nov.5, 2025. /Kabar/. Today, November 5, as part of his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, President Sadyr Zhaparov of the Kyrgyz Republic held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in expanded format in Cairo.
Key areas of Kyrgyz-Egyptian cooperation were discussed, including the development of political dialogue, economic cooperation, investment, and other issues of mutual interest. The two heads of state expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of bilateral relations and emphasized their readiness to give them new impetus.
President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi warmly welcomed President Sadyr Zhaparov, noting that Egypt attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the Egyptian side's readiness to strengthen political dialogue and deepen practical cooperation in all mutually beneficial areas. Egyptian president expressed confidence that the Kyrgyz leader's visit would be an important step in the partnership between the two countries and would create a solid foundation for implementing joint initiatives.
In turn, President Sadyr Zhaparov noted that, since Kyrgyzstan's independence, no president has visited the African continent. Sadyr Zhaparov praised Egypt's constructive role in the Middle East and Africa. He also announced that, in order to strengthen friendship and develop ties between the two countries, a decision had been made to open an Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Cairo. Agreements will be signed to expand cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt in the trade, economic, investment, and scientific and technical spheres, and decision has been made to establish an Intergovernmental Commission. Sadyr Zhaparov proposed holding its first meeting in Bishkek. Egyptian president, in turn, supported this initiative.
President Zhaparov emphasized the active cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Sadyr Zhaparov invited Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan and participate in SCO summit, which will be held in Bishkek in the fall of 2026, as well as the 6th World Nomad Games and events dedicated to the Independence Day of the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed the enormous potential for developing a mutually beneficial partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Egypt.
