Bishkek, Dec. 25, 2025. /Kabar/. Starting April 1, 2026, the salaries of teachers and medical workers in Kyrgyzstan will be increased by 100%, President Sadyr Zhaparov announced at the 4th People's Kurultai.
According to the head of state, respect for teachers and doctors is the foundation of a strong and developed state. The president noted that cases of disrespect and even violence against teachers and medical workers are common in society.
"Teachers shape the future of the nation, and doctors protect the health and lives of people. We are obliged to restore these two sacred professions to their well-deserved authority and high social status," Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized. In this regard, he announced a decision to significantly increase their salaries. The head of state recalled that a salary increase of at least 50% had previously been planned, but after further analysis of the government's financial capabilities, a more significant increase was decided upon.
"We have decided to increase the salaries of teaching and medical workers by an average of 100% by introducing an additional presidential compensation payment of 15,000 soms per position," he said.
According to the president, the average teacher salary is currently approximately 26,000 soms. Effective April 1, 2026, it will increase to approximately 52,000 soms. Salary will depend on the level of education, teaching experience, qualification category, geographic location, subject taught, and teaching load.
Thus, the salary of a young city general education school teacher with no work experience and a secondary pedagogical education will be 36,800 soms starting April 1, 2026, of which they will receive approximately 31,200 soms. In remote, high-mountain areas, the salaries of teachers with extensive teaching experience and meeting the regional coefficient will be significantly higher. Specifically, the salary of a mathematics teacher with 30 years of experience will be 97,600 soms.
In healthcare, the average salary of doctors currently stands at 31,500 soms. After the increase starting April 1, 2026, it will reach 62,500 soms, with specialists receiving approximately 50,000 soms. The salary of junior doctor in urban areas will increase from 16,900 soms to 42,100 soms, while in remote mountainous areas, the income of a top-qualified doctor with 30 years of experience will be 91,700 soms.
Furthermore, the president announced an increase in the salaries of cultural and sports workers. Thus, the average salary of artists will increase to 46,500 soms, and that of coaches to 58,900 soms. Starting April 1, 2026, the salaries of technical and support personnel will also increase by an average of 80% due to the introduction of an additional presidential compensation payment of 5,000 soms per position.
As Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized, these measures recognize the significant contribution of teachers, medical professionals, and social workers to the development of society and the strengthening of the state.
