Bishkek, Oct. 15, 2025 /Kabar/. The grand opening of the Ananyevo HPP, a small hydroelectric power plant built financed by the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), took place in Ak-Suu district of Issyk-Kul region. The plant's launch took place on August 29 with the participation of President Sadyr Zhaparov as part of a large-scale program to open 67 new enterprises across the country. According to RKDF Chairman Artem Novikov, the construction of the Ananyevo HPP is an example of an effective partnership between the government and financial institutions aimed at developing clean energy and increasing regional energy independence.

RKDF invested $3.3 million in the project. The total cost is approximately $5 million. The 5.43 MW plant will generate approximately 26.9 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, ensuring a stable power supply for residents and businesses in Issyk-Kul region, said Artem Novikov. The project included the dam construction, the installation of a diversion pipeline over 6 kilometers long, and the installation of a modern Pelton turbine, capable of operating efficiently even at low water levels. According to the fund's head, RKDF will continue to invest in initiatives aimed at sustainable regional development, job creation, and improving the quality of life for Kyrgyz citizens. The development of clean energy is one of the key areas of our investment strategy. This is an important contribution to the country's long-term economic development, Novikov emphasized.
