Social contract: Kyrgyz families continue to receive assistance in 2026

Bishkek, March 12, 2026. /Kabar/. As of March 11, 1,825 applications for participation in the Social Contract program had been received in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration, social contracts have already been signed with 607 families to date, with the largest number of projects (341) in agriculture. Applications are still being accepted.

Over the four years of the project's implementation, social contracts have been signed with 48,557 families implementing their own business initiatives. The majority of projects (73.3%) are in agriculture, followed by 13.8% in manufacturing, 6.7% in trade, and 6.2% in services.

It is noted that the initial social assistance amount under the contract was 100,000 soms, but this was increased to 150,000 soms starting in 2025. Among the first families to receive a social contract, 14 achieved an annual income of over 1 million soms.

Furthermore, 94.2% of the project participants are women, primarily living in rural areas. The program has created more than 57,000 additional jobs.

"In 2026, 13,333 low-income and needy families across the republic will be able to receive 150,000 soms each under the Social Contract program," the statement says.
