Bishkek, April 2, 2025. /Kabar /. On April 1, Chairman of the National Statistical Committee Baktybek Kudaibergenov met with representatives of the World Bank Poverty and Equality Mission, led by program manager Obert Pimkhidzai.

According to the statistics committee, the World Bank Poverty and Equality Program is aimed at reducing poverty and promoting shared prosperity through data-driven policies, social programs and economic reforms.

One of the main topics of the meeting was the discussion of support for poverty mapping in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as preparation for participation in the upcoming conference "Efficient Governance for Economic Development" (EGED), which is scheduled to be held in June 2025 in Dushanbe.

Within the framework of the EGED program, the National Statistical Committee, together with the Development Policy Institute, is working to strengthen interaction with civil society. This work generally requires interdepartmental coordination in the state working group on the Sanarip Aimak system, monitoring and evaluation of regional development, where the National Statistical Committee plays a coordinating role. It is worth noting that the National Statistical Committee has completed the development of a system that will allow obtaining disaggregated data for use in statistical analysis.

The meeting also discussed further steps in cooperation between the World Bank and the National Statistical Committee, as well as measures to improve the collection and analysis of statistical data.

Kudaibergenov noted that the National Statistical Committee is ready for active and fruitful cooperation with the World Bank and hopes for the successful implementation of joint projects.
