A waste recycling plant is being built in the city of Guliston, located in the Sughd region of Tajikistan, with the involvement of the Russian scientific and industrial company Spirit, Trend reports
According to the regional administration, the new plant under the Aprelevka venture will have a production capacity of processing up to 100 tons of waste per day and will provide jobs for over 150 people.
Overall, Tajikistan's industrial output totaled 53.8 billion somoni ($4.9 billion) in 2024, which is 20 percent more than in 2023.
Production in manufacturing rose by 7.6 percent, while electricity, gas supply, steam, and air conditioning increased by 5.7 percent. Water supply, waste treatment, and recycling saw a significant rise of 34.9 percent.

The plant’s waste recycling, utilizing the latest technologies and low costs, enables the production of gold and silver. The enterprise is located near the village of Kansai, 50 km from the city of Khujand, within the Karamazar ore region. It comprises multiple quarries, a gold recovery plant, a tailings facility, a chemical laboratory, an electromechanical workshop, a repair and construction site, a vehicle garage, and water intake facilities. Field development commenced in 2002.
