Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2025./Kabar/. The closing ceremony of the XXV Deaflympics, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Deaflympic movement, was held in Tokyo, Japan. More than 3,000 athletes from 81 countries participated in this year's games, competing for medals in 19 sports.
Kyrgyzstan's national team included 18 athletes in freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, taekwondo, judo, and table tennis. Kyrgyzstan's athletes won total of six medals: two gold and four bronze.
Gold medal winners:
Smadiyar Zhumakadyrov – Greco-Roman wrestling, 60 kg;
Adilet Zhaparkulov – freestyle wrestling, 74 kg.
Bronze medalists:
Dinmukhamed Bigeldiev – Greco-Roman wrestling, 67 kg;
Nartu Abdrakhmanov – Greco-Roman wrestling, 97 kg;
Baysalbek Orozali uulu – judo, 60 kg.
Azamat Mavlonov – taekwondo, 80 kg.
The Deaflympics is an international "Olympics for Deaf people." This is an international multi-sport event for deaf athletes held every four years, organised by the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD). The first Deaflympics were held in Paris, France in 1924. Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics will be the 100th anniversary commemorative Games and held for the first time in Japan.
