Bishkek, March 1, 2026 /Kabar/. Amid the escalating situation in the Middle East, a temporary interdepartmental headquarters has been established in Kyrgyzstan, and appropriate measures are being taken to repatriate citizens, the Umrah Department of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan said.
The organization commented that the situation in the Middle East has currently worsened, resulting in the disruption of flights organized for the sacred Umrah pilgrimage. This has resulted in a force majeure situation. In this regard, the Umrah Department of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan has issued an appeal to compatriots currently performing the Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca and Medina.
"We ask you to be understanding and patient with the current situation, obey the instructions of Umrah companies and group leaders, avoid panic, and patiently wait until the situation resolves and flights are restored. During this time, we ask you to pray for world peace, the unity of the Ummah, and the development of our country," the statement reads.
We also ask citizens planning to perform Umrah to monitor the situation and plan to perform the Umrah pilgrimage only after the situation in the region has stabilized.
