VI World Nomad Games start in Issyk-Kul region

Bishkek, Sept. 1, 2026 /Kabar/. The sports competitions and cultural events of the VI World Nomad Games begin in Issyk-Kul Oblast on September 1.

The Ethnobazaar is currently open at the "Nomad Universe" ethnocultural venue in Kyrchyn Gorge. Cultural programs are being organized, as well as master classes by artisans on handicrafts and national dishes.

In addition, ordo competitions will be held at the ethnotown's sports ground.

The Gazprom Center for Physical Culture and Health will host competitions in goresh, kurash, and Mongolian bokh wrestling. The Art-Ayantcha open-air venue at the Kurmanjan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization will host painting, sculpture, and ceramics workshops, exhibitions, and cultural programs. A number of exhibitions are also planned for the Exhibition Venue.

Toguz korgool competitions will be held at the Eurasia Hotel.

This evening, the grand opening of the international ethno-music festival "Echo of Nomads" will take place at the Cholpon-Ata Hippodrome.

As a reminder, the 6th World Nomad Games officially opened yesterday at the Bishkek Arena stadium in Bishkek and will run until September 6. Athletes from more than 100 countries are expected to participate.
