Working Kyrgyz citizens in Russia make contribution to economies of both countries, Kyrgyz president says

Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2025. /Kabar/. Russia remains one of Kyrgyzstan's largest trade and economic partners, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov during expanded meeting during Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Zhaparov noted that the integration of Kyrgyzstan and Russia within the Eurasian Economic Union opens new horizons for cooperation, innovation, and investment.

"We highly value Russia's support in developing infrastructure, energy, industrial, and humanitarian initiatives. In 2025, the number of Russian companies in Kyrgyzstan increased to 1,800, tripling the number several years ago," he said.

President emphasized the particular importance of cooperation in education, culture, and migration policy.

"Hundreds of thousands of Kyrgyz citizens work in Russia, making their modest contribution to the economies of both countries. Russian higher education institutions remain among the most sought-after by young people in Kyrgyzstan, and joint humanitarian projects help strengthen ties between our peoples and pass on the values ​​of friendship to future generations," Zhaparov added.
