Issyk-Kul, Sept. 3, 2026 /Kabar/. As part of the VI World Nomad Games in the Kyrchyn Gorge, representatives of the Batken region presented an ethno-village dedicated to the history, culture, and traditions of the region. Participation in the events not only provided an opportunity to share Batken's unique identity but also a platform for strengthening unity and friendship between residents of different regions of the country and foreign guests.
Batken Oblast Governor Mamyrzhan Rakhimov told Kabar that such events create a space for communication and mutual understanding between representatives of different nations.
"The World Nomad Games aim to popularize the culture and traditions of our people. But this is not only a sporting and cultural event – it is also a celebration of friendship. We meet each other, learn about the history and traditions of different regions, communicate, and become closer. I am confident that such events strengthen the unity of our people and friendly relations between countries," emphasized the governor.
Rakhimov noted that through culture and traditions, Kyrgyzstan can reveal its unique identity to the world while simultaneously learning more about the heritage of other peoples. According to him, the atmosphere of hospitality, mutual respect, and open communication created during the Games helps forge new connections and strengthen mutual understanding.
"When people gather together, they understand each other better. It is precisely meetings like these that show that, despite differences in languages, traditions, and customs, we are united by common values – respect, friendship, peace, and the desire to live in harmony," he said.
The 6th World Nomad Games are taking place in Kyrgyzstan from August 31 to September 6, 2026. The opening ceremony took place in the capital, Bishkek Arena, on August 31. The Games are being held in the Issyk-Kul region from September 1 to 6. More than 3,000 athletes from 109 countries are participating.
