Bishkek, Jan. 14, 2026 /Kabar/. The World Nomad Games will be held at the Bishkek Arena stadium on Independence Day, August 31.

Nazirbek Sarbayev, chief engineer of the international Bishkek Arena stadium under construction in the village of Orok, told that the main construction work has already been completed.

“The stadium consists of eight blocks. At present, monolithic and concrete works have been completed 100 percent. Installation of five-section metal structures is underway, which will protect spectators from precipitation. Interior works are actively ongoing, including leveling and zoning of spaces. External engineering networks, water supply, and sewerage systems are 95 percent complete. Overall construction readiness stands at about 60 percent. Installation of seating is scheduled for March,” Sarbayev said.

He noted that the stadium was initially designed for 45,000 spectators, but in line with FIFA requirements, capacity was increased to 51,000.

The stadium, designed in the shape of a yurt, will reach a height of 70 meters. The total construction area is 170,000 square meters, including 70,000 square meters for the stadium itself.

“Construction is proceeding according to schedule. On August 31, we will be ready to host the World Nomad Games at this arena,” he added.

The opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games will be held on August 31 in Bishkek, and the closing ceremony - on September 6 on the shore of Issyk-Kul Lake.
