World premiere of Kyrgyz film to take place at largest film festival in Germany

Bishkek, March 26, 2025. /Kabar /. The domestic short film "Zhailoogo Karai Uzak Zhol" ("The Long Way to Letovka") is included in the program of Oberhausen International Film Festival, where its world premiere will take place in April-May of this year, according to the official website of the festival.

The director of the film is Ilgiz Sherniyaz, the artistic director is Artykpai Suyundukov, the cameramen are Karash Janyshov and Adilet Baktybekov, the sound engineer is Kalybek Sherniyazov.

The film was shot in 2025 by the Aitysh Film studio with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the state cinema center "Kyrgyztasmasy".

The Oberhausen International Film Festival is held for the 71st time from April 29 to May 4. The forum is the oldest and largest short film festival in the world. The total prize fund is 40 thousand euros. This year, 124 films from 42 countries are participating.
