The seized nets were reportedly taken to a waste processing plant for disposal. Furthermore, cleanup efforts to remove various waste both underwater and in the coastal zone are ongoing.
The Issyk-Kul regionional department of Internal Affairs' tourism and environmental police are constantly clearing the waters of old poaching nets and various debris to improve the lake's ecological condition and preserve biological resources.
