Bishkek, Sept. 18, 2025 /Kabar/. The "One Belt, One Road" international media forum successfully concluded in Kunming. Over the course of two days, approximately 200 participants from 87 countries—journalists, editors, experts, and public figures—discussed modern approaches to the media landscape and the role of media in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.

The forum was distinguished by its scale and broad international representation. Key topics included digital technologies, countering disinformation, strengthening trust in news, and developing intercultural communication.

The event was organized by the People's Daily newspaper, the Communist Party of China Committee, and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. Particular attention was paid to the region's importance as a vital communications hub, uniting the interests of various countries.

During the forum, the new Silk Road award was presented to journalists and media organizations for projects that promote mutual understanding and trust between countries. This element made the event with practical significance and emphasized the role of the media as "bridges" between cultures. In the final discussions, participants noted that modern journalism can not only inform but also create a space for dialogue, facilitating long-term cooperation between countries.

The results of the 2025 media forum demonstrate that the influence of words and trust in the modern world is equal to the significance of major infrastructure projects under the global Belt and Road Initiative.
