Bishkek, Sept. 16, 2025 /Kabar/. The One Belt, One Road Media Forum has opened in Kunming, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China. It brings together media and government officials from different countries to discuss the role of media in promoting and covering international cooperation projects.
The organizers emphasized that the One Belt, One Road initiative takes us back to the historical traditions of the Great Silk Road, brings countries closer together, and becomes a key factor in economic development. It opens up new land and sea routes, creates conditions for cultural exchange and deepening interregional cooperation.
According to the participants, the joint construction of the One Belt, One Road is impossible without the active work of the media, which becomes a window for disseminating information, exchanging experiences, and strengthening mutual understanding between peoples.
Deputy Minister of Transport of the People's Republic of China Li Yang proposed establishing joint work to cover the construction of transport corridors. Only together can we implement the concept of a common destiny for humanity and promote the expansion of the economies of the participating countries, he noted.
At the opening of the forum, Kunming, known as the "city of eternal spring" and China's center for the production of tropical fruits, is becoming an important hub on the Silk Road map. And here, it is the media that is the bridge that connects the countries.
The One Belt - One Road initiative promotes the expansion of political, economic and trade cooperation, as well as the exchange of human resources. The volume of projects along the China-Europe route has already exceeded 50 billion US dollars.
The participants noted that the Great Silk Road was not only a trade corridor, but also a road for the dissemination of knowledge and cultural values.
The forum ended with a solemn ceremony of awarding journalists from different countries with the "One Belt - One Road" award for their contribution to the development of international media cooperation. Among the winners was a representative of the Kyrgyz media, journalist of Evening Bishkek news agency Nina Nichiporova.
After the official part, a festive concert was held, during which the participants emphasized that their countries are connected with China not only by economic projects, but also by common cultural traditions.
