Bishkek, October 16, 2026. /Kabar/. The artificial intelligence (AI) development must be accompanied by the preservation of the language, culture, traditions, and historical memory of the Turkic peoples. Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), spoke at the 15th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) in Bishkek.

According to him, AI and technological progress have become key issues of the modern era, raising both hopes and serious concerns regarding the future of humanity.

Raev noted that technological changes affect all spheres of life, and the development of artificial intelligence poses questions for society that do not yet have clear-cut answers.

"This is not a problem for a single country, but for all of humanity," he emphasized, speaking of the need to reflect on the consequences of AI development and to define approaches for its use.

Raev paid particular attention to the spread of unreliable information. He noted that the world is currently in a period where fake news has become a serious threat, and AI technologies can make it increasingly difficult to verify the authenticity of information.

He stressed the need for a responsible approach to the information space and the importance of finding effective ways to counter the spread of false information. The Secretary General of TURKSOY also highlighted the importance of preserving civilizational memory—encompassing language, traditions, mentality, music, and cultural values that has been accumulated over generations.

In his view, amidst global transformations, it is essential to ensure the preservation of this heritage so that it may be passed on to future generations.

Rayev emphasized that parliaments must not only establish the legal frameworks for technological development but also safeguard democratic values, freedom of expression, and the spiritual heritage of nations.

He expressed the view that the development of artificial intelligence should take into account the historical and cultural identity of the Turkic world.

Concluding his remarks, Rayev noted the special role of TURKSOY in preserving the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples, including their languages and traditions.
