Bishkek, June 23, 2026. /Kabar/. On June 19-21, Almaty hosted a scientific and integration forum entitled "Kazakh-Kyrgyz scientific cooperation: commonalities and peculiarities."
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event was organized by the National Academy of Sciences under the President of Kazakhstan with the support of the Consulate General of Kyrgyzstan in Almaty.
It was attended by representatives of state bodies of the two countries, the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, as well as professors and researchers from a number of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Within the framework of the forum, the National Academies of Sciences of two countries signed agreement on the creation of international consortium for the study of steppe civilization.

"Also, Kazakh researcher successfully defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations in the context of geopolitical changes: issues and prospects for development." This research became the first doctoral dissertation in the history of Kyrgyz-Kazakh scientific cooperation," the report says.
In his welcoming speech, Consul General Zhenishbek Asankulov touched upon the history of Kyrgyz-Kazakh scientific ties and noted the importance of their further development, joint research, academic exchanges and the implementation of new projects.
As part of the cultural program of the forum, the participants visited the tourist sites of Kolsai, Charyn and Karasaz in Almaty region, as well as the literary and memorial museum of the famous Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev.
