Audrey Tautou to be guest of honor at Bishkek International Film Festival

Bishkek, May 19, 2026 /Kabar/. World-renowned French actress Audrey Tautou will be the guest of honor at the 4th Bishkek International Film Festival, which will be held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan from June 7 to 12, 2026.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the country, the grand opening of one of the largest film forums in Central Asia will take place on June 7 at Turdakun Usubaliev Square. The festival will feature world premieres of films from China, Iran, Montenegro, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as international premieres from China and Italy.

"The organizers paid special attention to the participation of Audrey Tautou, known for her work on "Amelie," "Da Vinci Code," and other international film projects. The French actress's arrival is expected to be one of the festival's highlights," the statement says.

In addition, the program includes a special retrospective dedicated to People's Artist of Kyrgyzstan Dogdurbek Kadyraliev. It will screen the films "Descendant of the White Leopard" and "The Death of Otrar."

The film festival program also includes educational and industrial projects such as Work In Progress, Script Workshop 2026, and Old Square Screenings, aimed at supporting young filmmakers.

Mongolia will be the festival's guest country this year. Film industry representatives from more than 30 countries will participate in the event.
