Baisalov discusses interethnic harmony with OSCE High Commissioner

Bishkek, May 20, 2025 /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov and OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Christophe Kamp held a meeting on Tuesday in Bishkek.

The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said that Edil Baisalov congratulated Christophe Kamp on his recent appointment and noted the long-term constructive and sustainable cooperation of the Kyrgyz Republic with the Office of the HCNM, confirming readiness to further deepen the interaction.

During the meeting, issues of interethnic harmony, promotion of inclusive policies, as well as the role of the OSCE as a platform for dialogue on security and cooperation were discussed.

Baisalov highly appreciated the expert and advisory support from the Office of the HCNM, including assistance in implementing educational and youth programs aimed at strengthening tolerance and mutual understanding.

He also shared the results of the Kyrgyz Republic's Universal Periodic Review of Human Rights, as well as the submission of a national report to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

"Today, Kyrgyzstan is experiencing an upswing in its socio-economic development, and it is fundamentally important for our government that no group in society is left out of this progress. Our entire multi-ethnic nation is united today by the common goal of building a fair, sustainable and prosperous state in which every citizen, regardless of origin, language or religion, will have the opportunity to realize their potential. In the coming years, state policy will be significantly strengthened to further strengthen public harmony, expand citizen participation in the life of the country and protect the rights of everyone who considers Kyrgyzstan their home," said Edil Baisalov.
