Bishkek, June 11, 2026 /Kabar/. Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers took part in the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of eco-technological plant for the recycling of municipal solid waste and the generation of electricity. In his speech, the chairman emphasized the project's strategic importance for the capital's ecology and for future generations.
He recalled that the government has taken a range of measures to improve the environmental situation in Bishkek, which are significantly improving the situation: gasification of the private sector is underway, including the provision of preferential loans to residents; diesel buses are being replaced with modern buses running on natural gas and electricity; the most polluting types of coal have been replaced with high-quality coarse coal, etc.
"The launch of the second phase is a continuation of a large-scale initiative to radically improve the environmental situation in Bishkek and create a green, clean, and modern metropolis. I would like to especially highlight the benefits this plant will bring to the city: firstly, the waste problem will be solved; "Secondly, an additional green energy source will emerge; thirdly, we will ensure clean air and a healthy generation. The completion of this phase will reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 312,000 tons," stated Adylbek Kasymaliev.
"By beginning construction of Phase II of the plant, we are laying a 'time capsule' for future generations. This is our promise to our children: to leave them a city without waste, modern, technologically advanced, environmentally friendly, and safe capital," the chairman emphasized.
As a reminder, the first phase of the complex, commissioned on December 27, 2025, is designed to process 1,000 tons per day. After the completion of Phase II, the total design capacity of the complex will be up to 3,000 tons per day—the second unit is designed for 2,000 tons. Construction is scheduled to be completed within three years.
