Bishkek, Nov. 2, 2026 /Kabar/. The autumn campaign to green the capital continues in Bishkek. Yesterday, more than 500 saplings were planted across the city, including in Togolok Moldo Park, where the environmental initiative was joined by oncologists, women who have overcome cancer, and those currently undergoing treatment.
According to the Mayor’s Office, 138 catalpa and ash saplings were planted in the park. The event was organized by the public association "Together for Life".
The organizers noted that planting trees symbolizes the continuation of life, hope, and creation. The initiative aims not only to increase the city’s greenery but also to provide psychological support to individuals undergoing treatment.
Bishkek Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev pointed out that Togolok Moldo Park had recently undergone reconstruction. The improvement work was carried out at the initiative of young entrepreneurs, who funded the project themselves.
"Joint environmental initiatives are becoming a wonderful tradition in Bishkek. Thank you for your concern, your active involvement, and your contribution to the city’s development. We are always ready to support your initiatives and assist in their implementation. I am confident that your example will inspire other residents to join in such good deeds. Only by joining forces can we make our city even greener and more comfortable," the mayor emphasized.
On the same day, 64 oak and ash saplings were planted along the boulevard on Imanaly Aidarbekov Street. Mayor Aibek Dzhunushaliev, along with activists and local youth, took part in this environmental effort. The head of the city also emphasized the importance of ensuring irrigation for all planted trees.
"We have a directive from the president: trees are to be planted only where irrigation is available. In Bishkek, trees will not be planted in locations that lack an automated irrigation system or have no irrigation at all," he noted.
