Bishkek, June 3, 2026 /Kabar/. As part of Open Cabinet media project, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva shares with Kabar about the key goals and objectives facing the country's education system today.
According to her, the president has set a number of objectives for improving educational content. Within the first 100 days of his presidency, the "Altyn Kazyk" program was developed, which today forms the basis of ongoing education reforms.
"First and foremost, our goal is to improve the entire school education system. Everyone says, 'Give us a high-quality and good education.' But the education system depends on many factors: teachers, parents, funding, and social values." "Therefore, expecting everything to be perfect in a short period of time is not consistent with the laws of human and social development," the minister noted.
Kendirbaeva emphasized that reforms in the education sector are being implemented quite actively. Moreover, she noted, all projects and initiatives are being funded exclusively through the state budget.
The minister drew particular attention to the scale of the education system. Currently, 186,000 people receive wages in the sector, and approximately 2 million children are receiving education. According to her, managing such system requires high efficiency and the smooth operation of all mechanisms.
Furthermore, a large-scale update of the educational curriculum, which has remained largely unchanged for nearly a century, is currently underway.
"As the president notes, Kyrgyzstan's development directly depends on the quality of human capital. This is precisely why significant investments are being made in education, which must be implemented wisely, responsibly, and with maximum benefit for the country's future," the minister emphasized.
