Bishkek, Nov. 25, 2025. /Kabar/. The Entrepreneurship Development Fund (EDF) has started providing loans to women entrepreneurs.
According to EDF, loans can be obtained by women entrepreneurs working in the production and service sectors, as well as legal entities in which at least 50% of the shareholders are women.
Documents required for obtaining a loan:
- Individuals must have a business patent or a certificate of registration as an entrepreneur;
- Legal entities - a certificate of state registration is required.
The loan term is up to three years, the amount is from 50 thousand soms to 3 million soms. A term discount is provided.
The 12% loan to women became possible with the support of the Asian Development Bank. The bank allocated 22 million soms for the development of women's entrepreneurship.
Another 22 million soms will be provided by EDF at a lower interest rate from its own funds. Thus, total of 44 million soms was allocated to support women entrepreneurs under this preferential program.
As noted, 253 women received loans from EDF for the development and expansion of their businesses in the first ten months of this year. The total amount of loans granted to women amounted to 478 million 435 thousand soms.
