Bishkek, Oct. 8, 2025. /Kabar/. European Union (EU) has transferred €6.5 million, or approximately 663 million soms, as grant-based budgetary assistance to the Kyrgyz government for the education sector, Kyrgyz Ministry of Education reported.
EU support is aimed at improving the quality of school education in Kyrgyzstan and ensuring its accessibility for all children, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or language background.
This tranche is the third payment of €27 million allocated by the European Union for the implementation of Altyn Kazyk national education program in Kyrgyzstan.
In the context of the EU's Global Gateway strategy, education is a key sector for investment aimed at developing skills for future jobs, promoting equality and inclusion, and advancing digital and green approaches. Whether in Europe or Kyrgyzstan, it's vital to equip our children with the tools and knowledge they'll need tomorrow to shape a prosperous future for themselves and their communities. Equitable and inclusive quality education for all is a long-term key priority in the EU-Kyrgyzstan partnership, noted Hans Farnhammer, Acting EU Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic.
