Bishkek, Feb. 17, 2026. /Kabar/. Compulsory insurance should be introduced for those interested in extreme tourism, Director of the Tourism Department Erdenet Kasymov told Kabar.
According to him, insurance should be carried out in accordance with international standards.
As Erdenet Kasymov noted, Georgia has introduced mandatory insurance for tourists from January 1, 2026.
"Those interested in extreme tourism are now insured. However, the costs of rescue exceed the insurance amount. Today, we are working closely with the State Insurance Organization. Here we have lakes, water, and mountains. Tourists can encounter various accidents. We must take everything into account and become a safe tourism state," he noted.
