Bishkek, June 24, 2026. /Kabar/. International youth seminar, "Young Peacebuilders Cross-Border Initiative," was held in Fergana at Fergana State University. It brought together young leaders, experts, and representatives of international organizations from Central Asian countries.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, the event was held as part of Fergana Peace Forum. It was organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, the Agency for Youth Affairs, the Fergana Regional Khokimiyat, the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, and the OSCE Project Coordinator's Office in Uzbekistan.
The main goal of the seminar was to discuss issues of strengthening peace, developing mutual trust, and expanding cooperation between youth in border regions of Central Asia.
Over the course of four days, participants engaged in interactive dialogues, simulated negotiation processes, and group sessions. Young leaders exchanged experiences and gained practical skills in conflict prevention, developing constructive dialogue, and jointly addressing pressing social issues.
Following the workshop, the participants presented a number of initiatives and recommendations aimed at further developing regional cooperation and strengthening good-neighborly relations between the countries of the region.
The organizers noted that holding such events fosters sustainable ties between Central Asian youth and creates new opportunities for joint projects in peace, security, and development.
The seminar once again confirmed the importance of the Fergana Valley as a space for dialogue, mutual trust, and cooperation.
