Bishkek, Dec. 11, 2025. /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on International Mountain Day.
Text of the greeting:
"Dear people of Kyrgyzstan!
Dear international partners!
I sincerely congratulate you on International Mountain Day – a day that unites people around the world around the idea of respecting the majesty of mountain nature and the responsibility for its preservation.
Today, when climate change is particularly acute in mountainous regions, manifesting itself in melting glaciers, retreating snowpack, landslides, avalanches, mudflows and floods, forest degradation, and biodiversity loss, the situation in the mountains and the fate of the people living among them demand decisive action to adapt to climate change and increase the resilience of mountain ecosystems and communities.
In accordance with the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, and the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, the Five Years of Action for Mountain Development (2023-2027) is being implemented globally. Our country continues to make a significant contribution to advancing the mountain agenda internationally by strengthening partnerships. At the national level, our government is gradually taking measures to improve the socio-economic conditions of mountain populations by developing infrastructure, modernizing roads, digitalizing public services, encouraging tourism, agriculture, the green economy, and energy, and expanding the network of social institutions.
On this symbolic day, I call on all citizens, partners, and friends of Kyrgyzstan to contribute to the sustainable development of the mountains: make nature-oriented decisions, protect the flora and fauna of our mountains, develop innovation and environmental awareness, and promote international cooperation in these areas.
Preserving biodiversity, traditional knowledge, and a way of life in harmony with nature, rationally using natural resources, and protecting mountain ecosystems, whether high-mountain valleys or our glaciers with their eternal snows—this careful attitude toward the heritage of our ancestors is required of us and future generations.
May the mountains continue to give us strength of spirit, inspiration, and confidence in the future.
May they remain a symbol of peace, harmony, and a sustainable future for all peoples.
Happy holiday, dear compatriots!
Happy International Mountain Day!
