Kasymaliev highlights agriculture, energy and tourism as key areas of cooperation with Germany

Bishkek, Aug. 26, 2025 /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz-German business forum "Day of the German Economy in Kyrgyzstan" was held in Cholpon-Ata, organized as part of the events of the "Days of the Economy of Kyrgyzstan and Germany" format.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev delivered a welcoming speech at the opening of the forum.

Addressing the forum participants, the Cabinet head emphasized the symbolism of holding it on the picturesque shore of Issyk-Kul Lake, noting that it marks the completion of the first cycle of meetings, which started in 2023 in Hamburg and continued in the key economic centers of Germany - Frankfurt am Main and Munich.

"Today's business forum is a summary of the positive results of our joint work and an excellent opportunity to discuss the prospects for cooperation not only as partners, but also as friends," said Adylbek Kasymaliev.

In his speech, the chairman of the Cabinet highlighted the key areas of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany. He noted the sustainable growth of the Kyrgyz economy, focusing on the increase in the country's GDP by 11.5% in January-July 2025. Active work to create favorable conditions for investors by simplifying administrative procedures, modernizing the tax system and introducing digital services was also emphasized.

Adylbek Kasymaliev identified agriculture as an equally important area of ​​cooperation.

"Unique climatic conditions and environmentally friendly products make Kyrgyzstan an attractive partner in processing, exporting and implementing international standards," he noted.

Referring to the energy sector, the head of the Cabinet emphasized that the republic continues to strengthen its position in the field of hydropower, while developing projects in the field of renewable energy sources.

In addition, Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of the mining industry, especially in the field of exploration, production and processing of rare earth metals.

He emphasized that Germany is consistently among the leading tourism partners of Kyrgyzstan. In 2024, over 23 thousand tourists from Germany visited the republic, and in the first half of 2025, this figure exceeded 10 thousand. Joint projects in the field of ecotourism, hotel infrastructure and cultural initiatives aimed at strengthening ties between the two peoples were named as promising.

In conclusion of his speech, Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized that Kyrgyzstan strives to build an innovative, sustainable and open economy to the world, and expressed readiness to implement joint projects and establish a strategic partnership with Germany.

"Kyrgyzstan is opening up to the world as a reliable, predictable and dynamic partner, ready to cooperate in a variety of areas. We are confident that, based on trust, mutual respect and constructive cooperation, Kyrgyzstan and Germany will be able to strengthen stability and ensure the prosperity of our countries," the head of the Cabinet concluded.
