“Kazakhstan will host the third meeting of the Heads of Mapping Institutions of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in 2026,” Rashad Ismayilov, First Deputy Minister of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, said during the second meeting of the Heads of Mapping Institutions of OTS in Baku, AzerTAG reported.

Expressing confidence that the meeting’s activities will significantly enhance operational information sharing within OTS in the coming years and support regional management based on more accurate maps, First Deputy Minister Rashad Ismayilov added: "In accordance with the Declaration adopted in Ankara in 2024, the preparation of a Unified Thematic Map of the OTS countries is also among the topics of discussion at this meeting. There is great potential for expanding cooperation in the field of mapping in the upcoming period, and Azerbaijan is ready to actively contribute to these efforts. Our current cooperation is based on solidarity, common language, culture, and strategic values reflected in the Nakhchivan Agreement and the Turkic World 2040 Vision. I am confident that the discussions will be constructive. The mutual exchange of experience and knowledge will breathe new life into the development of our cooperation in the field of mapping."
