Korea to provide $10 million grant for Osh water system modernization

Bishkek, March 6, 2026. /Kabar/. Osh City Mayor Zhanarbek Akaev met with representatives of Korea's leading water resources management corporation - K-water.

According to the municipality, the parties discussed the implementation of a project to control the distribution of clean water in Osh using a modern electronic system. The total cost of the project is $10 million, and the funds will be provided in the form of a non-refundable grant.

The project includes the modernization of the Ozgur water treatment plant, as well as the transition of the city's water supply system to digital and "smart" management technologies.

In addition, issues of strengthening the operational and organizational capabilities of the institution, improving the qualifications of specialists, and upgrading the infrastructure were also discussed.

The parties agreed on the effective implementation of the project and the development of further long-term cooperation.
