Bishkek, Jan. 28, 2026 /Kabar/. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev participated in a board meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during which the results of 2025 were summarized and priorities for the current year were identified.

Head of the Cabinet noted the key achievements of the past year, emphasizing that the main political achievement of 2025 was the resolution of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border issue.

"The number of countries with which the Kyrgyz Republic has established diplomatic relations has reached 185, and our first embassy was opened on the African continent. During the year, 190 events were held, and 633 international agreements and documents were signed," he said.

Adylbek Kasymaliev continued that today marks the fifth anniversary of President Sadyr Zhaparov's inauguration.

"The difference between the country's situation in 2020 and the current stage of development is colossal, one could say like heaven and earth. A large number of significant projects have been implemented. In 2025, the consolidated budget reached a historic milestone, exceeding 1 trillion soms," he said.

Cabinet head identified a number of factors that influenced the budget growth, including economic growth (the country's GDP in 2020 was $8.3 billion, and in 2025, it will exceed $22.6 billion); improved tax administration, with tax revenues increasing approximately fourfold; customs revenues increasing sixfold; non-tax revenues increasing eight- to ninefold; increased economic activity, with growth observed in construction, trade, services, agriculture, and industry. With the global gold price rising, revenues from Kumtor's operations amounted to over $5 billion.

In his speech, Adylbek Kasymaliev also noted the need to promote practical solutions in multimodal transportation, digital logistics, and transport connectivity, advance wind, solar, and small hydropower projects, and facilitate investment in large-scale tourism projects.

"In addition to the above, Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and preparations for the Summit, which will be held in Bishkek in 2026, are of particular importance. It is essential to continue the Ministry's work to promote the Kyrgyz Republic's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for 2027–2028," he said, issuing a number of instructions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
