Bishkek, March 25, 2025. /Kabar /. On March 24, Kyrgyz-French political consultations were held in Paris at the level of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Meder Abakirov and Director of the Political Department with the rank of Deputy Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Brice Roquefeil.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that during the consultations the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, covering political, trade, economic and cultural-humanitarian aspects of interaction.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Kyrgyz-French partnership and expressed their readiness to expand the political dialogue. The Kyrgyz side reaffirmed the invitation of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov to the President of France Macron to visit Kyrgyzstan.
Particular attention was paid to the prospects for expanding economic cooperation, in particular in the fields of energy, agriculture, digital technologies and attracting French investment in the Kyrgyz economy.
Cultural and humanitarian cooperation was also one of the main topics of discussion. The importance of expanding educational programs, as well as organizing joint cultural events that promote the development of ties between the peoples of the two countries was emphasized.
The parties exchanged views on issues on the international agenda, including cooperation in the field of climate change, international security and sustainable development. During the talks, the parties also considered current issues of regional security, including the situation in Afghanistan, emphasizing the importance of interaction between Central Asia and Europe to ensure stability in the region.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen Kyrgyz-French cooperation and agreed to continue a constructive dialogue on all issues discussed.
