Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2025 /Kabar/. On December 26, 2025, Kyrgyz Health Minister Kanybek Dosmambetov held a working meeting with representatives of United Nations organizations on issues of pharmaceutical supply within the framework of the current Memorandum of Understanding. According to Kyrgyz Ministry of Health, the parties focused on key areas of cooperation in pharmaceutical supply, including strengthening the national regulatory system, expanding access to vital medicines, increasing procurement transparency, and ensuring the sustainability of supply chains.
Minister emphasized that ensuring equitable and sustainable access to quality medicines is a priority of state healthcare policy and is directly linked to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal of "Good Health and Well-Being."
Special attention was paid to procurement transparency and the prevention of corruption risks. Kanybek Dosmambetov noted the need for systemic changes aimed at eliminating unfair practices and ensuring the efficient use of budget funds.
"The state annually allocates significant resources to the procurement of medicines, and our task is to ensure their use is as transparent and rational as possible. We are committed to strictly enforcing order in procurement, ridding the system of unfair practices, and building sustainable, honest cooperation. We expect that, with the support of our development partners, this cooperation will be systemic and long-term," noted Kanybek Dosmambetov.
It is noted that the development partners have confirmed their commitment to further deepening cooperation, including support in the areas of procurement according to international standards, supply chain management, digital solutions, pharmacovigilance, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the healthcare system.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue working together to implement the provisions of the memorandum of understanding, focusing on specific, measurable results aimed at strengthening drug safety and protecting patient interests.
