Bishkek, July 7, 2026. /Kabar/. The Supreme Court participated in a forum of judges from SCO member states in Shanghai.
According to the relevant department, more than 100 delegates participated in the forum, including heads and judges of the highest judicial bodies of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat.
Kyrgyzstan's judicial system was represented at the international forum by a delegation consisting of Supreme Court judges Zhamalkan Isakova and Inara Gilyazetdinova, and the Director of the Higher School of Justice, Erkinbek Toktomambetov, as well as Natalia Alenkina, a member of the Scientific Advisory Council.
Shen Liang, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court of China met with the heads of the foreign delegations and participated in the opening ceremony. The participants' speeches emphasized the symbolic significance of the forum: in 2026, the SCO celebrates its 25th anniversary, and the mechanism of the Meeting of Chief Justices of the Supreme Courts of the SCO Member States celebrates its 20th anniversary.
During the panel discussions, the participants discussed the most pressing issues of interregional cooperation. Particular attention was paid to identifying common approaches and developing consensus in key areas: judicial guarantees and ensuring cross-border trade, professional training, advanced training, and exchange of experience among judges, the integration and application of artificial intelligence technologies in judicial proceedings, and the optimization of the legal and business environment for conducting business in accordance with the principle of the rule of law.
As part of the practical part of the program, the Kyrgyz delegation, together with their colleagues, visited the Shanghai Higher People's Court and the Shanghai First Intermediate People's Court. The delegates were thoroughly familiarized with the administration of justice in China, as well as with the best practices of their Chinese counterparts in the field of digital transformation and digitization of the judicial system.
